Take a minute to meet our newest contributor to the Weird Girls site.
I am so excited to introduce you all to Emma. She’s a talented 15 year old photographer and one of the nicest and most unique people you could ever know. She also helped inspire me to write Weird Girls in the first place. When I launched the site I always wanted to be able to feature real-life Weird Girls and she was one of the first that I asked to be a contributor. She was happy to do it and I’m more than happy to be able to share some of her work with her here.
Hi guys. So … I’m Emma. I’m fifteen years old, and I’m here, because I’m a real life Weird Girl. You should consider this as Part One of our getting to know one another, so lets start with the basics; where I’m from.
You know how some teenagers have that frustrated, angst-y type of “Geez, I can’t wait till I get out of this stupid town” type of attitude? You see, I don’t have that. You know why? Because I live in Austin, Texas. And what better place for a weird girl to live than in a city known for its weirdness? The breeding ground for all things fun and loud. Food, art, culture, music, films; you name it, we got it. From ACL to Austin Film Festival, Austin provides some rad opportunities to take photographs, which is what I’m all about. There is never a dull moment around here, and I honestly couldn’t love it more and I don’t think I’ll ever leave.
Yes, I could go on and on, but as they say, one picture is worth a thousand words. So without further ado, here are a few images I’ve taken while adventuring around this crazy place. So nice to meet all of you, and enjoy. And remember to Keep Austin Weird A
